HOW CAN I HELP?

Mother Teresa was approached at Sydney Airport by a vindictive reporter. He pointed out that the enormous needs of India's poor weren't being addressed properly and that Mother Teresa's work was only a drop in the bucket compared to the dire poverty of the masses in India.

Mother Teresa acknowledged that, 'my work is only one drop of God's love, but the ocean is made up of many drops". Compassion International raise monthly support for impoverished children. Australian Heart Ministries have supported their work in Kenya and Uganda for many years. Compassion has a slogan, 'changing the world, one child at a time'. Each one of us can make a difference in this world if we do something positive. Steel chains, made up of many separate links, pull massive ocean liners along. As we link together, we can make a difference.

The key to life is in giving. Jesus said, 'Give and it will be given to you'. Again the words of Jesus as recorded in Acts, 'It is more blessed to give than receive'. Mother Teresa says 'Open your heart to the love God instills in it. God loves you tenderly. What He gives you is not to be kept under lock and key, but to be shared. The more you save, the less you will be able to give. The less you have, the more you will know how to share'.

Ways to Give
Give of your time - Volunteer your assistance. Help us in the office or with maintaining equipment. Maybe you would like to work with us developing skills in the media. Sometimes we take groups to other parts of Australia and other countries to get involved with helping firsthand.

Pray for us - Your prayers will empower us to greater service. You will also receive blessings. Mother Teresa said, 'Prayer makes your heart bigger, until it is capable of containing the gift of God himself'. Alfred Lord Tennyson said, 'More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of'. MC Hammer says, 'You got to pray just to make it today'.
