MARSHES FACT SHEET

Nathaniel is 21 years of age and has been playing drums for over 15 years. He has played drums in over 900 concerts and on a dozen albums, worked as a session drummer as well as 'filling in' with other professional bands. He was the youngest 'Premier' sponsored drummer in Australia. Premier drums are played by some of the best Australian drummers such as Virgil Donati and David Jones. Nathaniel has also gained sponsorship with UFIP Cymbals, hand made in Italy, and also Vater drum sticks and Aquarian heads. Nathaniel has taken a key role as part of the production and song writing team for the Marshes new album 'Fathers' as well as singing, playing guitar and percussion.

Jonathan is 19 years of age and has been playing bass guitar for over 12 years. He is an innovative player, and has some nice funk slap styles under his belt as can be heard on Disc 2 of 'Fathers'. Jonathan has played on 8 albums. Yamaha, the world's largest music company has recognised his creative genius on the bass and have sponsored him with a solid body 5 string bass guitar. Jono is also sponsored by Marshall Amplifiers. Nathaniel and Jonathan in 1997, recorded their own EP of original songs with some friends from school in a band called Unusual Addiction. The song on Fathers which Jonathan helped write and produce has a melodic 'alternate/ rock' flavour. The boys other current band is called 'BENT', which is made up of Nat & Jono and three other friends. Bent's music is a combination of heavy hard core guitar, rapping and powerful funk rhythms, commonly called rap-core. They released their debut album, 'No Compromise'to an enthusiastic response.

Levi is 17 years old and plays saxophone and didgeridoo and has helped with writing several songs on the new album. He has been playing for 10 years and has a solid, mature sound for someone so young. Levi has featured on 6 albums and his improvisation skills are showcased on several tracks on the new double album, especially the music disc.

Israel is 15 years of age and has been learning the guitar for 8 years. He is also sponsored by Marshall. Israel laid down some tracks on the new album and is a maestro on the wah and weird sounds.

Melodie is 9 years old and loves to sing and play the flute. The second female member in an otherwise all male family, she tends to get her own way when it comes to co-operation. Distractions are her forte. Melodies vocal and song writing abilities are featured on the new album on 'Fill our lives' and on the secret track.

Warwick Marsh has been playing guitar for over 30 years, with seven albums and 2 film tracks to his credit. He is a singer/songwriter and producer, who also tours with other musicians in Australia and overseas when not working with his family. Warwick's label 'Australian Heart Music' also distributes for Indigenous singers and artists and other songwriters. Australian Heart Music is a member of Australian Independent Record Association and in August 98 Warwick was part of an Australian music delegation to POPKOM in Cologne, Germany. He has helped organise an historic annual reconciliation gathering in Parliament House, Canberra in 96, 97 & 98 with Aboriginal and white artists combining for an exciting event called Praise Corroboree. In May 96 Warwick toured South Africa with Aboriginal singer and painter Peter Compton from Western Australia. This historic inter-racial music tour was the first of its kind. Warwick was given the honour of receiving the 'Fatherhood of the Year' Award in November 1998 at NSW Parliament by FOL. The Marshes have performed at Australia's Wonderland, Forest Edge Festival, Victoria, Blackstump, NSW, HILLSONGS Music Conference and took part in the 'Quest Australia' sydney Olympic Games performance schedule. Warwick has toured 14 countries playing music with The Marshes, including USA, Africa and most recently China and SE Asia.

Alison Marsh, mother 'extraordinaire', has 5 children to her credit and is equally at ease on the road or at home. She plays keyboard and sings, loves washing and hates making lunches. She enjoys being a mother to a large family and takes the challenges of the road in her stride. Alison has a heart to share with other women the joys and trials of raising a family in the Lord. Yamaha Australia sponsor her keyboards.

Warwick and Alison have been able to share their love of music with their children, and have been able to include the creative energy of their family in a contemporary band. The teenagers in the family still don't mind being seen with mum & dad and the younger children love to play music. The family's enthusiasm shows no signs of abating.
