Warwick & Alison Marsh founded Australian Heart Ministries after several years of prayer, with many times of fasting. At the time the focus was to pray for Australia and revival from 1986 - 1989. during that time Warwick was the local co-coordinator for Intercessors for Australia and the Ministries of Ten Thousand Men. Several national days of prayer and fasting were key events culminating in the gathering of 50,000 Christians to open the new Parliament House, Canberra in prayer after the Prime Minister, Mr Bob Hawke had refused to open the new buildings in prayer. Australian Heart Ministries began operation in 1989, born out of this period of prayer.
Australian Heart Ministries continues to be effective to this day because of our ever-growing prayer base. Australian Heart Ministries has a twofold vision in regards to prayer.
1) Motivating People to Pray
Australian Heart Ministries has a local and national role to inspire people
to pray for missions, the nation, political and government leaders, revival
and reformation. Warwick and Alison Marsh usually represent Australian Heart
Ministries at the National Prayer Breakfast each year at Parliament House, Canberra.
Warwick helped pioneer the Praise Corroboree, bringing 72 hours of prayer, proclamation,
praise & worship to Parliament House on an annual basis. First held in 1997
the Praise Corroboree now continues on under total Aboriginal leadership.
It's key scripture for many years is found in 2 Chronicles 7:14,
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven
and forgive their sin, and heal their land.
Australian Heart Ministries continues to work with Brian Pickering of the Australian
Prayer Network and other key prayer leaders to help spread the news about prayer.
Prayer changes things, mostly us! As we are changed, God moves through us to
bring about His change.
Currently Warwick Marsh is meeting with key Australian Christian leaders in order to organise a meeting with the Prime Minister, Mr John Howard, to pray for him and encourage him. Warwick is also approaching the Governor General to meet with him for prayer. Australian Heart Ministries hopes to set up a prayer information network using Christian Media, radio, TV, and the Internet to help pass on important prayer points from Australia's parliamentary leaders.
2) Raising up Prayer Support for Australian Heart Ministries
Australian Heart Ministries dream to raise millions of dollars for Christian
aid and training in poorer countries, and our dream to reach a billion souls
with the good news of Jesus Christ requires many miracles to come to fruition.
The sheer enormity of the tasks ahead will help us stay on our knees. Australian
Heart Ministries has begun a monthly prayer meeting on the second Tuesday of
every month at our office, 217 Nolan St, UNANDERRA, and NSW, 2526. You are welcome
to join with us as we pray and worship God together. For more information phone
